Lark’s Head Binding (Photo Coming)
Sometimes you have single sheets of paper that you want to bind into a book. The Lark’s Head or Slip-Knot Binding is perfect for this purpose. The pages open completely as opposed to something like the Japanese binding. We will use a Gelli plate to quickly create some light backgrounds on our paper then cut the large sheets down to 4” x 6”, wrap the spine edge and punch holes. Finally we will assemble the pages and sew them together with the Lark’s Head stitch. You can then write on or collage on or further decorate the pages on your own.
